This uncanonical early Christian work claims to tell the story of the circumstances surrounding Mary's conception and birth, her marriage with Joseph, the birth of Jesus, and the flight to Egypt. While it's obviously more legend than fact, it's also a very early snapshot of the early Church's traditions and "family stories". There are also later and longer versions of this story, like the so-called "Gospel of the Nativity of Mary", but this is the oldest.
